Delete your LocalNewsBreaker account

LocalNewsBreaker includes a built-in Delete Account feature in the app. You do not need to email us to delete your account — use the steps below.
Delete account in the app (built-in feature)
- Open the LocalNewsBreaker app on Android or iPhone.
- Go to the World tab.
- Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account (red button).
- Your account and profile data are removed from our servers immediately.
This built-in feature calls our API (DELETE /api/v1/users/me/) and clears your local session.
No waiting period when you delete from the app.
Need help?
If you cannot access the app, email zub165@yahoo.com from the email address on your account. Include your username. We will delete your account within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Username, email, and password (account credentials)
- Authentication tokens and profile data
- Synced to-do / release checklist tasks tied to your account
- Account linkage on your submissions
What may be kept
- Published news stories may remain in the public feed without personal identifiers.
- Server backups may be retained up to 90 days, then purged.
- Local cache on your device is cleared when you uninstall the app or use Delete Account.
