Privacy Policy

Introduction

Privacy Protector (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the mobile application (the “App”).

Information we collect

• Device information: basic device model/OS version and app-generated identifiers used for local logs. Stored locally by default.
• User preferences: theme and settings stored on-device.
• Optional feature permissions (only if you enable them): contacts/photos access for duplicate cleanup.

How we use information

• Provide and improve app features you explicitly use.
• Maintain local privacy activity logs (on-device).

Data storage

By default, data processed by Privacy Protector is stored locally on your device. We do not sell your data. The app may optionally sync “privacy events” to your own backend if you configure a Django base URL in Settings.

If you enable backend sync, requests use your configured base URL (example https://api.yoursite.com:8001) and may include a Bearer token if you set an API key.

Third-party services

The app can open system Settings pages and external links (e.g., Apple Support pages). Those services have their own policies.

Children’s privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
